I grew up Pentecostal – and I’m gay – so I’m totally kicked out of heaven. Bar the door – throw away the key – get the hell out!It was a rough time coming to terms with the way I grew up and the man I was becoming. I’d always had a close relationship with god and fortunately I realized one day that I still had that. The higher power in my life was still there and still loved me. Over time I’ve ceased to think of heaven as some mystical place we get to when we die – but rather it is all around me all the time. I’m most aware of it in the quiet moments. When my cat wakes me up with his snoring. When Harold falls asleep on the couch and I cover him up with the blanket and put away his glasses When I watch a great movie or read a great book that makes me think about life a new way. And always always always when I’m grateful. So that is what I wanted to capture with this picture. A heavenly guy having a quiet heavenly moment. I hope you have a bit of heaven in your life today. : ) Michael

What would you do if one minute your strutting you’re stuff, being all sexy – and suddenly you’re bitten by a vampire? For me – my first thought would be survival. If you’re drained dry you can’t even have a life as the ‘undead’. Then I would find a werewolf and get bitten. I figure if vampires are real then werewolves have to be real too – right? Hopefully the werewolf and vampire powers would help cancel out their weaknesses!

I’m back from vacation!!!  It was soooooo nice : )

We took a small family cruise – it was wonderful just breaking up the regular routine and hanging out with everyone.

I took lots of neat pictures – so expect to see a few of them – including the winner of the Sexiest Man contest!

I quake in fear when I think about using a brush in photoshop.
Some people are real artists – they pick up a pen or brush and art just happens. It’s like magic to me. Boy Wonder or Klim2art could sneeze on a canvas, smudge it a bit, and – Bam – it looks freakin awesome!
That – sadly – is not me.

So when the theme for the Teleidoscope this week was painting – I shuddered.

I prayed to the cat god but he just snuggled up and took a nap. (really, he’s right beside me) (scratch scratch)

Anyway, I figured if fancy New York artists could get away with throwing paint mixed with urine at a canvas and calling it art then I could get away with this (minus the pee of course)
